Jiangang Weng's Obituary
Jiangang Weng, aged 48, died at Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek, California on July 20th, 2022, of colon cancer.
He was born on Oct 28th, 1973, in Linhai, Zhejiang Province, to Zeqin Weng (father) and Diejiao Gao (Mother). He graduated from Tsinghua University in 1996 with double bachelor’s degree in Thermal Engineering as well as Computer Science. He then was accepted into the PhD program in Mechanical Engineering in University of California, Berkeley because of his outstanding academic performance. He was tutored by the celebrated professor and Chancellor Chang-Lin Tien. After graduation in 2001, he worked for different companies including Hewlett-Packard, Guardian Industries, Veeco Instruments and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He devoted to multiple research areas including hardware development, solar application, special glass product development, et al. As an experienced Senior scientist, he co-authored many granted US patents. He was well-known for his positive attitude, enthusiasm in learning, honesty, and hard work ethic.
On July 19th, 2007, he was married to Zhi Li. He was a considerate and gentle husband and loved his wife more than words can describe. He supported her pursuit in career without reservation for which she will always be grateful. He is survived by Helen Weng and Katherine Weng who will always remember how great a father he was.
A funeral will be held at 9 am, August 5th 2022, at Skylawn Funeral Home.
