Jerry Hung Yuan Ju's Obituary
Jerry Hungyuan Ju, age 92, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Theresa, his devoted daughters, Tina and Annie, three grandchildren, Claudia, Jessica and Julietta, as well as countless friends and loved ones.
Jerry was born in Qingdao, China, where he attended Qingdao Middle School. He moved to Taipei, Taiwan with his father and brother when he was 16 and graduated from high school there. He attended Republic of China Naval Academy, where he graduated with honors and was decorated by the Chief in Command Office of the State. He founded several technology companies and had patents in Uninterrupted Power Supply, which were ahead of their time. He met his wife Theresa in Taipei and they married on Oct 12, 1963.
He and his family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1977. He loved philosophy, painting, coin collecting, swimming and much more. He will be remembered for having unconditional love for his family and loyalty to his friends. His genuine interest in people and his ability to connect through humor forged lasting friendships that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. He courageously battled and triumphed over two separate cancer diagnoses over the span of six years, defying all odds with his unwavering spirit and unyielding positivity. His resilience in the face of such challenges was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
Our family is grateful to know that Jerry is resting in peace.
A memorial service will be held at Skylawn Funeral Home on August 26 at 11am.
