Maria Jennifer Gino's Obituary
Jennifer Gino, beloved by her family and all privileged to know her, was called home on May 3rd, 2020.
Affectionally known as Ginny, she was always found smiling and sharing her joy with her family and friends, never missing an opportunity to show how deeply she cared for them.
If you're on this page, you know -- Ginny touched many lives across the world. Growing up in Manila, she made many lifelong friends at both Poveda Learning Center and Assumption College, all of whom remember her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and loyalty. She then moved to the United States in 1989, spending time in both Northern and Southern California with her mom, Marietta, her sister, Liza, and her brother, Jason. Never a mother herself, Ginny poured all of her love into the ten children of her siblings, giving them everything she could. She also dutifully served the Stein Eye Institute at UCLA for fifteen years.
Even when her health began to fail her, she remained easily delighted with life, laughing hard and often. At gatherings, she never paid mind to being last or without a seat. She was the most selfless among us, not for a lack of self-love, but because of the immensity of the love she had for everyone else. You may recall that she called herself "truly gorgeous forever" and "the most beautiful girl in the world"; without any doubt, she was - inside and out.
Together we mourn her departure, but also celebrate the love she gave to us with her life.
