Jeannette Bosworth's Obituary
Jeannette D. Bosworth passed away at the age of 92 on July 11, 2017 in her home in San Mateo. Jeannette was born on October 31, 1924 in Adel,Iowa where she grew up on a farm with her parents, David and Irma Wing, and her two brothers, Joe and Jack.As a young woman she met Hartley M. Bosworth, a dashing young naval office (during World War 2) at a dance at The University of Iowa in Des Moines where she had planned to study nursing. The two married and after the war settled in Raleigh, Missouri where Hartley studied chemical engineering. Their son, Richard, and daughter, Susan were born in Raleigh, Missouri and thereafter were known as “river rats” due to the Mississippi River.They moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where Hartley worked as an engineer with Bechtel Corporation for nearly thirty five years. Jeannette and Hartley had their third child, their daughter, Janet. Jeannette devoted herself to being a wife and mother. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching, and gardening until the time of her death.Hartley passed away in 2007 and Jeannette continued to live in her home with her daughter, Janet until the day of her death. Her daughters Susan and Janet lovingly cared for her during her last days. Jeannette is survived by her children, Richard, Susan, and Janet, her three grandchildren, David, Marilyn, and Sarah, and her three great grandchildren Beth, Becca, and Zachary.The family kindly requests donations to Mission Hospice who assisted in her care.
