Jeanne Bridges' Obituary
Jeanne Ellen Bridges, resident of Pleasanton, passed away after a brief illness on May 13, 2013. Jeanne was born in Coffeyville, Kansas on July 17, 1923. She is survived by her sons Robert, Thomas, William and David Bridges, daughter Carol Koepp, fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Jeanne was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Bridges, her second husband, Bernard Wilson and her son, Ernest Bridges.Born and raised in Kansas, she was active in local society. Her voluntary service with the American Red Cross during World War II occasioned her meeting Robert Bridges, a U.S. Army Air Corps officer who was teaching pilot flight training and they subsequently married. After the war, they resided in Hawaii and the San Francisco Bay Area where she raised a family. Jeanne was a dedicated volunteer at St. Francis Hospital in San Francisco and her in her later years, she found enjoyment in watching her family grow.Funeral services will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo on May 20th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to one’s favorite charity.
