Jane Fong's Obituary
Jane Fong passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from cancer at the age of 52. Jane came roaring into this world on January 17, 1960 in Hong Kong. She was always fond of her early years in Hong Kong, playing dress up in her mom's clothing and singing like she was a famous HK star. Several years later, her family moved to San Francisco where she attended Commodore Stockton Elementary, Denman Middle School, Lowell High School, and City College of San Francisco. Even as a young child, Jane was extremely hard working, efficient and reliable, helping out in her family restaurant. Jane always excelled in her studies but in high school she tried her hand at athletics and became known as 'the hitter' on Lowell's Varsity Volleyball team. Jane went on to be a success in the mortgage banking industry for over 20 years. She started off as a Loan Underwriter and worked her way up to Vice President Credit Risk Manager. In 1997, Jane went out on a limb and initiated her own Loan and Real Estate brokerage that she ran successfully up until this year. Despite her condition, Jane never let her disease slow her down or dampen her spirit. On her free time, Jane enjoyed baking and cooking, yoga, scenic walks, playing with her kitty Coco, Broadway shows and lunch with her girlfriends, traveling (Tahoe and Hawaii!!), caring for her friends and family, and spending quality time with her three daughters especially when Nordstrom kicked off their annual anniversary sales!Jane will always be remembered as a beautiful, loving, vibrant and generous woman. Her vibrant personality and fiery spirit could light up a room instantly! Her generosity knew no bounds. She was someone her clients, colleagues, friends and family turned to for advice. The word 'no' was not in her vocabulary. She always put others before herself and was more than happy to offer a helping hand and support. Jane also was known for her amazing baking and cooking. Many would joke and tell her to quit her real estate business and open up 'JF's bakery'. There are no words to describe how much Jane will be missed... Jane is survived by her daughters Michelle, Ashley (Kevin Pang), and Stacey, parents, Anthony & Yuk Chan, her siblings Sandra (Tom Lau) and Darrick, and of course, her kitty, Coco. A public viewing will be held on Saturday, November 17th at Skylawn Funeral Home from 12-12:30pm. The funeral service will be held from 12:30-1:30pm, followed by a reception on site.
