James A. Plumley's Obituary
James A Plumley, 88, died Sunday June 30, 2019 peacefully in his home in San Mateo. He was born February 14,1931 in Missoula, Montana to Nina and J.R. Plumley. Raised there with his brother Vern, he attained the rank of Life in the Boy Scouts of America and graduated from Missoula County High School in 1949. He attended the University of Montana, pursuing a degree in forestry, before joining the US NAVY in 1951. James served in Korea and Vietnam, retiring as an SKC-S in 1972. After the Navy, he worked for Jefferson School District as a warehouse supervisor/superintendent until 2001. He was a dedicated hunter, fisherman and sports fanatic his entire life. Go Grizzlies, Niner’s, Giants, and Warriors! The benevolent treatment of his backyard squirrels and jays was a daily pastime as he kept peanuts close at hand.James is survived by his daughters Sharon Litchford of Fairfield, CA, Nancy Kaufman (Steve) of Fort Collins, CO, Karen Pudoff (Gary) of San Francisco, grandchildren James, Dawnette, Kara, David, Brian (Amelia), Alex (Richelle), Zach and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel, in 1957, his wife of forty-five years, Peggy, in 2003, his son Harold Loezius, son-in-law LCDR USN Larry Litchford and grandson Danny Loezius. Services will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park Monday, July 8 at 11:30 am, reception to follow.
