James M. Jackman's Obituary
Dr. James M. Jackman, O.D., age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Walnut Creek, CA. He was born September 6, 1929, in New York City, to James M. Jackman and Margaret (Toulouse) Jackman. After graduating from La Salle Academy High School in 1947, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1951-1953. He was a 1955 graduate of Los Angeles College of Optometry. He married Nellie Elizabeth Becker on May 29, 1955, in Glendale, CA. He worked as an Optometrist for 52 years in Fairfield, CA, serving the community with dedication. James truly lived life to the fullest with his great work ethic, his love of travel, his generosity and his time spent with family. He is survived by his loving wife, Nellie; children, James, Robert and Janet (Alan); and grandchildren, Candace, Sherry (Bruno) and Kayla.
