Isolde Geipel's Obituary
It is with great sadness we share, that on June 2, 2024 Isolde Geipel passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children. She was 100 years old.
She was born on May 17, 1924 in Freudenstadt, Germany to Karoline and Albert Wurster. She was the oldest of three children.
She met her beloved husband Rudi of 67 years, shortly after World War ll, and moved to California to start their new lives.
Endearingly called Omi, she was the proud mother of 4 children,
Alfred Geipel of Sunnyvale, CA, Elisabeth Smith of Redwood City, CA,
Dorothea Lopuck of San Mateo, CA, and Susanne Delagnes of Menlo Park, CA. Omi was blessed with 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Omi was the heart and soul of the family. She doted on her large family and was happiest when her large brood surrounded her. In the past, she hosted large Sunday dinners and numerous parties inviting family and friends to join in on the fun. She loved everyone unconditionally and made all feel loved and welcomed. We celebrated Omi’s last party on her 100th Birthday. She glowed in the love of her family.
A Celebration of Life for Omi, will be conducted by Pastor John Kuehner of Unity Lutheran Church July 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the home of her daughter Dorothea Lopuck, 8 Kelton Court, San Mateo, CA. 94403.
Given Omi’s love of feeding others, in lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to World Central Kitchen, https://wck.org/donate.. Please reach out to Skylawn Funeral Home with questions or concerns regarding health and safety, parking and facilities, as well as questions about the Memorial Park. The hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, 8:30am-5:00pm
