Iris Lisa France's Obituary
Let’s take a moment to honor and remember Iris Lisa France, whose life touched so many. Born in San Pedro, California, on September 30, 1958, Iris was the cherished daughter of U.S. Army Veteran Sgt. James B. France and Lucila B. France. Over the years, Iris made her home in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area, and also spent time living in Hawaii, Nevada, the Philippines, and Germany.
After high school, Iris pursued her passion for creativity at the San Francisco Institute of Art & Design, a path that reflected the curiosity and artistic spirit that would remain a constant throughout her life.
Iris truly marched to the beat of a different drummer. She embraced the uniqueness of others and never hesitated to show affection, kindness, and empathy. Those who knew Iris will remember her generosity, warm sense of humor, and the effortless way she could make people smile—and laugh—when they needed it most.
As a business owner, Iris found joy in buying and selling treasured goods, always appreciating the stories behind each item. Her compassion extended deeply to animals, and she expressed her creative spirit through poetry. Music brought Iris happiness, and she loved to sing along to favorite songs, filling everyday moments with a little more light.
Iris was a loving sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to many, sharing her warmth and kindness freely. Her presence was a comfort, her laughter was contagious, and her care for others left a lasting imprint on the people fortunate enough to be part of her life.
In her final days, Iris faced lung cancer with remarkable strength and grace. She passed peacefully in her sleep on April 24, 2026. Iris’s memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
