Hui Kang Chang's Obituary
Hui Kang Chang aka Susie Chang, was a loving mother, a caring wife and a great cook. She was known for her kindness, compassion and generosity which knew no bounds.
On December 4, 2024, Susie peacefully passed away at the age of 72. She was born in Hong Kong on March 21, 1952 to Gee Pan Cheung and Yip Mak Yuen. The family shortly moved to Taiwan where she would grow up with most of her siblings. Eventually all the siblings moved to America and she was the last to join them. It was in America where she would meet her husband, Ronald Ko. They would get married in Hong Kong and lived there for a short time before moving back to America to start a family and chase the American dream. After years of saving and hard work, they purchased their first home in Alameda, California, where they would go on to raise two sons, Gordon and Marwin. Susie loved her sons dearly and were her greatest sources of joy and happiness in her life.
Susie loved cooking, growing potted plants and flowers and also enjoyed watching the 49ers. Most of all, she loved spending time with family.
Susie is survived by her husband, Ronald, her 2 sons, Gordon and Marwin, and their spouses, Cara and Sophia.
