Hou Shou Ho's Obituary
Hou Shou Ho April 11, 1922- June 14, 2013 a resident of the city of Fremont passed away on June 14, 2013 to toxic epidermal necrolysis, a complication which arose upon treating his pneumonia. He died peacefully surrounded by his loving family.Hou Shou was born in China, Guang Dong Province, Xing Ning County to Mao Xiang and Ye. He was a typical farm boy. With his brother's help he became the first in his family to graduate from college. After he graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University with a bachelor degree in Physics, he left for Taiwan to teach at Taiwan University, following in the footsteps of his professor. He met his wife BinRu Duann and they were married in 1956. Throughout his career he taught at various universities, including Nanyang University in Singapore and Tunghai University in Taiwan. After 40+ years of teaching, Hou Shou retired from Tunghai University. He moved to Fremont to live with his son Tao in 2006. He enjoyed playing mahjong and watching Chinese opera.He is predeceased by his parents, siblings and wife and is survived by his three children, Tao, Lu and Ming, and his 5 grandchildren. Hou Shou will be greatly missed by family and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend the service on Thursday June 20th at Skylawn Funeral Home, Highway 92 off Skylawn Blvd, San Mateo Funeral Service at 11:00am in the Crystal Springs Chapel.
