HOA VUONG BIOGRAPHYHoa Vuong was born on May 8, 1928 Cantong, China. She was the first child in her family among 10 siblings. She has 6 sisters and 4 brothers. She was raised by very warm parents. She attended high school in cantong, china. During her youth, China was torn apart by civil wars, foreign occupations and Japanese invasions; as a result she grew up under instability. Her parents wanted her to get out from the town. Her parents and family immigrated to Cambodia.In 1950, Hoa was arranged by her parents to get married to her parent’s best friend’s son Dac Tran Vuong, the business man. After they got married for a short period, they decided to settle in Phnom Phen, Cambodia to grow their business. Hoa has 6 children, 2 daughters Jenny and Elisa Vuong, 4 sons, Frank, Victor, Kenny and Paul Vuong. She has 10 grandchildren, Phillippe, Terrence, Genevieve, Gelene, Nataly, Napoleon, Kevin, Jacklyn, Emily and Justin and 2 great grandchildren, Mason and Gwen; third one is on the way.Hoa helped her husband growth business and raised the children. She was a very hard working person and very dedicate to her family. She makes sure that her children grew up knowing how important the value of life, money and family are to them. She always said don’t ever take things for granted. Always work hard and never give up. She’s always serious about teaching the grand children, but in the fun ways.In 1977 Hoa and family immigrated to Paris, France and in 1982 she once again immigrated to United State which sponsored by her eldest son Frank, who lived in San Francisco. She was very happy to see all her children together. She worked very hard for the first few years as professional tailor to help support her children to go to school, but after all her children was done with school and start to work they told her to retired from her job and she did happily. Hoa loved to go to Chinatown and enjoy the dim sum with her husband after attending the tai chi class almost every morning. When there’s nothing much to do, they like to watch Chinese opera show together. She enjoyed her life around her husband, children and grandchildren.In 1998, her husband suffered from a stroke and was pass away the same year. She continued to live her life with the children and grandchildren; and get to see a great grandchildren couple year ago. She was a great grandmother who persistently taught her grandchildren to speak Chinese in her own dialect chew chow (one of the dialect of Chinese language). She’s very dedicate to her religious, so every new year she has all children, grandchildren and great grandchildren over for the new year celebration. She was the center of it all.In 2013, she was diagnosed with liver cancer and was given about three months to a year to live. She bravely fought against the disease head on with the help of all her children and grandchildren. Her will to live was strong against all odds. In September this year, she was hospitalized due to kidney stone and kidney infection. After removed of the stone, her kidney still cannot function properly. She has to be temporary confined to Atherton health care facility. In November 28, she has to be hospitalized again due to her cancer has spread. She was there for five days and pass away peacefully on December 2, 2014.
