Hisako Halvorson's Obituary
Hisako Halvorson, 75, of San Jose, California passed away on March 31, 2021. She was born February 11, 1946, in Tokyo, Japan. In November of 1973, Hisako married Gerald L. Halvorson in Tokyo, Japan. She had her son Daniel Hiroshi in July of 1975. They moved to Minnesota in 1976 where they built their first family home. Her daughter Christina Mari was born in 1978. The family moved to San Jose California in 1984 where she was a homemaker and worked at multiple restaurants in San Jose Japantown most recently Minato Restaurant and then Shuei-Do Manju Shop where she made lifelong friends and enjoyed interacting with customers. She loved to cook and entertain her friends at her home. She enjoyed yoga and working out at the YMCA. “Chako” was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted friend. She is survived by her children Daniel and Christina, and grandchildren Arisa Halvorson and Miya Adams. Hisako Halvorson also is survived by her nephews and nieces, Toshio and Akiko Suzuki. She was preceded in death by her parents Kakuzo and Matsue Suzuki .
Her funeral took place on Friday April 16, 2021 at 11am at Skylawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park at Hwy 92 at Skyline Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94402
