Henry K. Yeh's Obituary
Henry Yeh of San Francisco passed away at UCSF Medical Center on Sunday, November 29, 2015, 1:03PM with his family by his side. He was 89.He was born September 27, 1926 in Anhui, China. He was educated in China and Taiwan, and had served in the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Republic of China for over 30 years. His diplomatic missions included South Korea, Japan, and the Dominican Republic. He was married to Helen Yeh on December 20, 1953 and celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary in 2013.Henry was a caring, loving husband, a compassionate and selfless father, and a wonderful, benevolent grandfather. After retiring as a career diplomat, he moved to San Francisco, helped to raise his grandchildren – whom he loved to take on walks around Stow Lake and picnics in Golden Gate Park, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and traveling. His most recent travel to China was a visit in October, 2011 to his ancestral village in Anhui, China, where he had a reunion with his brother whom he had not seen for over half a century.Henry is survived by his wife Helen; his son George and his wife Oiping of Fremont; his daughter Sophia and her husband Russell of San Jose; his son Grover and his wife Annie of San Jose; his daughter Sally and her husband Daniel; and his grandchildren: Kimberly and her husband Yousif, Thomas, Iris, Jessica, and Clairity. He is predeceased by his daughter, Susan.A private funeral service will be held on December 6, 2015 at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo, California. Henry will be forever remembered for the endless love he had for his family: always giving without the intention of receiving, always considering the good of others before his own feelings, and always upholding the highest standard of honesty and integrity.
