Heidi Bringas Blando's Obituary
On June 14th, 2015, Heidi Bringas Blando passed away peacefully after the Pastor read a verse with closed doors, lights off, the song “How Great Though Art” while her daughter had her in my arms. Quiet, serene, as God took over. Heidi was born on November 20, 1926 in Pdigan, Abra, Philippines and is one of nine siblings; Benjamin, Jesus, Florida, Joshua, Romulo, Uldarico, Proculo and Adelina. Heidi’s parents are Casimero Blando and Isidora Bringas.1947, she graduated from Far Eastern University high school. In 1951, she acquired her license to practice nursing in the Philippines. She married Alejandrino Purugganan and raised ten children; Johnny, Lin, Irene, Priscilla, Yolanda, Ver, Jean, Annie, Nellie and Philip. Unfortunately, they lost Alex, Jr. soon after birth. In 1966-1967, she travelled to the United States and practiced nursing at the University of Texas Branch in Galveston, Texas. Inspired by the quality of life in the United States, she then returned to the Philippines with the intention of moving the family, with her husband’s support, to the United States. From 1971 through 1972, Heidi and her husband moved the family to the United States.She was a woman of faith and loved the Lord. She was dedicated to her nursing career, yet she found time to enjoy her favorite activities such as scary and war movies. She loved to dance, travel, socialize and spend time with family. Her favorite motto is “Do good and leave behind a monument of virtue, storms of time cannot severe”.She was preceded in death by, Son Alex jr., siblings Benjamin, Jesus, Florida, Joshua, Uldarico, Adelina and great granddaughter, Addelyn. She is survived by brothers; Romulo and Proculo. Her children; Johnny (Gigi), Lin (Richard), Irene, Priscilla, Yolanda (Andy), Ver (Tony), Jean (George), Anne (Jarod), Nellie (Alex) and Philip. Grandchildren; Leah, Teresa, Ryan, Tyler, Jessica, Olivia, Dillon, Jillian, Andrew, Samantha, Anthony, Angela G, Angela S, Justin, Adam, Jonathan, Matthew, Brendan, Jarod, Evan, Eric, AJ and Jaxon. Great grandchildren; Aiden, Addison, Zoe, Halah, Oliver, Opal, Rosalie and Johnny Ryan.Heidi’s memorial service will be held on June 20th, 2015 at Skylawn Funeral Home, Route 35 at Highway 92, San Mateo, CA 94402.
