Harry Bode Sr.'s Obituary
HARRY BODE, SR.Harry Bode Sr., aged 88, died at Stanford Medical on June 4, 2017, of cancer.He was born in Boise, Idaho, to parents Albert and Hilma. His siblings were Albert Bode, Kenneth Bode, Ann Justice, Alberta Garcia, Alice Strysik, and Victor Bode.Harry graduated from Polytechnic in San Francisco. He served in the Army as a Sgt. 1951-1952.Harry was a truck driver and worked at United Parcel Service, PMT, and Emery Air. He retired from Teamsters 85.Harry was a hunter and a famed fisherman. In fact, his nick name was Big Bass Bode. He loved fishing with his family, including his sons Harry Jr. and Ronnie and had many fishing friends over the years, Including Pete Gemma, Len Girard, Kenny Rosin, Nick Calia, Bill, Steve and Mike Hesse, Chris Morello, Steve Scott, Jimmy and Abe and Angelo Cuanang, Hank Morioka, Mike Tonna and many more.Harry was married to Shirley who passed away in 2005. He is survived by Patti Kunakov (Bruce), Barbara Moreno (Danny), Harry Jr., and Ron Bode (Jessica). Grandchildren Victoria Taylor (Jon), Samantha Sammut (Matt), Clinton Moreno, Tim Kunakov, William Rhea, Wesley Bode, Lesley Bode, Harry Bode, and Haley Bode. Great Grandchildren Jasper Taylor and Addison Sammut. In addition to family, Harry was a Uncle to the Hesse, Garcia, and Bode families. Foster Grandfather to many. Lifetime friends Harold and Carole Jorgensen and their boys Mark, Brett and Roy Jorgensen.There will be a viewing on Monday, June 12, and Funeral services on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 11 am at Skylawn Memorial, Highway 92 and Skyline Blvd., San Mateo. Followed by a celebration at Nicks Restaurant in Rockaway Beach, Pacifica.Donations can be made to the Children’s Home Society of Idaho, 740 Warm Springs, Boise, ID. 83712. This charity was very close to my fathers heart. As a child, this was the children’s home where he spent several years at after his mothers death.
