Harold Ray Penny passed on April 23, 2007 at an amazingly youthful 92 years of age. He was born on Nov 2, 1914 in Sacramento to Harry and Florence Penny. He graduated from High School in 1932; continued his education Harold Ray Penny passed on April 23, 2007 at an amazingly youthful 92 years of age. He was born on Nov 2, 1914 in Sacramento to Harry and Florence Penny. He graduated from High School in 1932; continued his education at Sacramento Junior College Technical Institute of Aeronautics, where he graduated in 1935. He was hired by Pan Am Airlines where he had many Pacific Island assignments, including Pioneering Trans Oceanic Flight on 'The Clipper Ships.' During World War II, he was captured in Manila Jan 1, 1942 and sent to an Internment Camp until General McArthur returned to rescue him on Feb 23, 1945. In 1949 he met 'Faye' on a blind date; they married in 1951 and spent 55 years together. They had two children, Doug & Elaine. Hal retired after 40 years with Pam Am and they enjoyed many years of Golf, Bowling & Traveling. Services will be held Sunday, 1:00 at Skylawn Memorial Park.
