Harold Solomon Karr's Obituary
Harold Karr beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on May 11, 2008. Harold was born April 5th, 1919 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He graduated from the University of Manitoba and received his PhD in English Literature at the University of Minnesota. He taught at Washington State University, Southern Colorado State College, and California State University Fresno where he was a beloved English Professor and mentor for many students. Harold was also a wonderful musician playing both clarinet and saxophone. He delighted the senior citizens of the North Peninsula for many years by playing for the dances at various senior centers. He is survived by his loving wife Helen, and many children and grandchildren: Bill & Shula Karr, Talya Karr, Ely Karr, Judy & Jeffrey Hecht, Toben Green, Sarah Green, Leah Karr, Jack, Rachel, and Joe Reinard, Bart & Sue Sullivan, Shannon Sullivan, Bret Sullivan, Mathew, Scott, and Megan Sullivan, Keri and Randy Walker, Kristian Walker. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Leonard & Charlotte Karr, Mona & Allan Paschen, and Velia Sweet. His music, knowledge, and kindness enriched the lives of everyone who knew him, he will be greatly missed. Services will be held at the Chapel by the Sea in Pacifica on Sunday May 25th at 1:30.Remembrances may be made to the American Lung Association, San Mateo County LTC Ombudsman, or your preferred charity Lifemark Center at Slylawn Memorial Park
