Gregoria C Pinlac's Obituary
Gregoria Caputolan was born on November 17, 1929 in Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines as the youngest of 4 siblings. Her parents and siblings all preceded her in death. After serving in World War II in 1945, Juan Pinlac took Gregoria’s hand in marriage. To this union 3 children were born, Florentine C Manio, Jaime Pinlac, and Teodulo Pinlac. In 1960, the family of 5 moved from the Philippines to their new home in San Francisco, CA USA. 3 Years later, the family moved to Daly City into their permanent, family home that houses many memories made by the following generations. 4 years later, the Pinlac family grew as they welcomed the youngest sibling, John Pinlac Jr. into the family.Gregoria enjoyed her time being a seamstress by profession and hobby, a proud housewife and caring mother. After Juan served in the US army, he had various jobs as a cook, custodian, and security guard until his health declined and he ascended to his heavenly home on June 12, 1995.Gregoria assumed many roles and went by many names; beloved mother or ‘Mae’, grandma, great-grandma and friend to name a few. She’ll always be remembered for the many times she expressed her anger by calling out to “SUSMADIOSEP”. Or telling the people on WWE to “Get him!” or “Kill him!”. Or telling the grandkids that we “UUUUH BETTER BE NICE TO ME HAHH!” Or to “Be a good guurrll ok?!? Study hard!!!” We all shared very sweet and tender moments with her when she would sing “Go to sleep,my darling baby…mommy dear is so far away…” or “tungari, tungari” or our all time favorite and most remembered,”You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.. you make me happy when skies are gray. You’ll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away…”On the evening of Sunday, January 27, 2019, Gregoria was reunited with her loving husband, parents and siblings with family by her side. She leaves to cherish in memory her daughter Florentine P.
