Grace N Hui-Mui's Obituary
Grace Hui Mui age 73 of San Francisco passed away at UCSF Medical Center on Saturday January 17, 2015 because of respiratory complications.She was born on November 16 1941 in Guangzhou, China to Tom Mui and Ann Ho. She received her education in Guangzhou and was married to Free Hui on June 18 1968 in Hong Kong. She is survived by her spouse, Free Hui, elder son Yirk Man, second son King Man, daughter-in-law Stella Hui and a pet Yoda.Prior to her marriage, she was a primary school teacher. After marriage, she devoted most of her time to promote the well-being of her family. She was a Buddhist after Venerable Master Hsing Yun. For many years she was a volunteer serving San Bao Temple of Fo Guang Shan in Hong Kong. Her work was highly accredited by the Fo Guang Shan authority in Taiwan. She was invited to Fo Guang Shan, Taiwan to receive an honorable medal for that matter. Watching TV was one of her favorite pastime. She learnt a lot of cooking technique from TV and made all family members have a delicious meal all the time. Playing Majong was one of her social activities with friends and relatives. She liked to travel very much. Her extensive travelling covered nearly all the major continents except Africa. She expressed two major desires now and then in her daily conversation. The first one was to migrate to US and have a kidney transplant. It happened after migrating to US for two and half years, she got a kidney transplant. Since then she led a happier life for the last 10 years. She had wanted to see her two sons being well educated at least to have a bachelor degree. It was achieved when her second son King Man graduated from San Francisco State University. She was especially content when Yirk Man moved to San Francisco for good. She enjoyed to have the 2 grown sons, who had taken very good care of her, together by her side. Then in 2012, Stella joined the family by marriage to King Man and this made her life even fuller. Stella is the daughter she had longed for years. Thereafter, she did not have any regret.In January, 2015 when her health condition changed suddenly in the ICU ward, all her brothers and sisters came to her bedside. She knew that we were all there to see her and she passed away peacefully.A Funeral Service will be held at 10am on January 31st 2015 at Skylawn Funeral Home located at Highway 92 and Skyline Blvd.
