Gloria Mercedes Palala Mendieta's Obituary
Mercedes (Tia Brooma as she was lovingly known) passed away unexpectedly in her home on August 24th, 2016 in South San Francisco at the age of 57.Mercedes was a beloved Mother, Aunt, Daughter, Wife, and Friend. She lived life fully everyday and will be missed by many.She touched many, many lives in the course of her journey and was always happy to greet you with her great sound and voice. She was extremely reliable and helpful with all. With this, she was often the first one you called as she was well known to jump in and help anyone at any time they needed it, from the smallest to the biggest things. Her kindness and enormous giving heart is what made Mercedes an angel here on Earth.In this last year especially, Mercedes was at a great point and at great peace in her life’s journey. She was contently fulfilled with her children, her career, and her spiritual walk.She will be missed tremendously and it is a wonderful blessing to have called her daughter, mother, sister, Tia, and friend. Our family greatly appreciates the love, support, and prayers that we have felt from all in this time in our lives.A visitation will be held Wednesday August 31st, 2016 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Skylawn Funeral Home in San Mateo. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Angels in Burlingame on Thursday September 1st from 10:00am-11:30am. The commital service will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park from 1:00-1:30pm. R.I.P. Mama Bear, we will miss you, till we meet again.
