Gloria Dalmau's Obituary
Gloria Lee “Mom” Dalmau (née McClintock), a vibrant spirit and lifelong entertainer, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, in Redwood Shores, California, just days shy of her 92nd birthday.
Born on September 1, 1933, in Washington, Iowa, Gloria’s life was a rich tapestry woven with music, creativity, faith, and love. From an early age, she embraced the arts with passion and purpose. Her remarkable voice carried her through a professional singing career that spanned decades. Whether performing on stage or simply sharing a tune at home or church, Gloria had the rare gift of lighting up every room she entered. She was not only a singer but a true entertainer—her humor and warmth made her unforgettable to all who knew her.
Gloria’s creative energy extended far beyond music. A devoted artist at heart, she was constantly immersed in projects—drawing, painting, crafting—always planning her next creation. Her hands were rarely still, and her imagination never rested. Art was not just a pastime for Gloria; it was an extension of her soul.
Her devotion to others was equally profound. Gloria gave generously of her time to her children, friends, church community, and neighbors. A devout Methodist throughout her life, she remained deeply involved in church activities and found great joy in fellowship and service.
Family was the cornerstone of Gloria’s world. She shared many cherished years with her beloved husband Rico Dalmau before his passing. Together they built a family rooted in love and laughter.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Wendie Marlais; son Thomas Allison; grandchildren Lindsey O'Malley, Eva Cheeks, and David Crandall; great-grandchildren Dylan O'Malley, Ryan O'Malley, Allison (AJ) O'Malley, Trinity Huerta, Hailey Huerta, Zoey Huerta; and Hunter Cheeks.
Gloria now reunites with those who went before her: her daughter Vicki Crandall; grandson Jason Marlais; and husband Rico Dalmau.
Throughout her life’s journey, Gloria was rarely without a loyal four-legged companion by her side. Most recently it was Mimi, her beloved Pomeranian and constant shadow—a testament to the deep affection she held for animals.
Those who knew Gloria will remember not only the beauty of her voice but also the joy of her laughter and the sparkle of mischief in her eyes. Her wonderful sense of humor brought levity even during difficult times and left lasting impressions on all fortunate enough to share in her company.
May Gloria Lee Dalmaus memory continue to inspire creativity, kindness, faith—and perhaps even a spontaneous song—for generations to come.
