Geraldine "Gerry" Camerotto's Obituary
Geraldine “Gerry” (Jackson) Camerotto, long-time resident of San Mateo, passed away peacefully May 3, 2014 with family by her side.Born May 25, 1927 in Palo Alto, CA to John and Josephine (Cardoza) Jackson. A graduate of Sequoia High School in Redwood City, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Gerry was known for her outgoing nature and enjoyed many great friends. She was very active as a volunteer donating her time to school, civic and charitable organizations.Gerry is survived by her loving children, Vicki (Edward) Sweeney of North Aurora, IL, Cindy (Steve) McGunnigle of Tualatin, OR, Mario (Cindy) Camerotto of Humble, TX, and Carla (Gary) Roope of Milpitas, CA; her cherished grandchildren, Kristin and Daniel McGunnigle, Anne Marie Sweeney, Lauren Roope; and her sister, Lorraine Swafford. Aside from her parents, Gerry was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Umberto “Bert” Camerotto, her brothers John and Robert, and sisters Jackie, Joan, and Roberta.A private interment will be at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her lifetime.In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to American Diabetes Association, Alzheimer Foundation or charity of your choice in her name.
