Geoffrey Charles Millward's Obituary
Geoffrey Charles Millward, 83, passed away peacefully at home with his family on October 9, 2018. He was born on February 16, 1935 at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, California, and graduated from Berkeley High School in 1953. He attended Brigham Young University for one year, and then served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Northern States Mission. His occupation for 52 years was as a sheet rock finisher and taper. In 1962, he married Margaret DeLéon, settling in Oakland, CA, and eventually moving to Redwood City, CA in 1971 along with their two children, Matthew and Victoria, as Geoff purchased an ice cream parlor named the Blue Ribbon located along the El Camino Real in Redwood City. Geoff sold his business to Bud’s Ice Cream of San Francisco, where he continued to manufacture ice cream for the Bud’s label along with returning to his construction trade.He remarried in 1978 to Margarita J. Germano, who was a loving and devoted wife celebrating 36 years together before her passing in 2014. They enjoyed traveling together and saw the sights of Australia, Hong Kong, Brazil, Europe and Hawaii to name a few. He was an avid sports fan, always watching games of baseball, football, and basketball to pass the time. His other hobbies included magic performances, model craftsman ship building, nautical painting, and family history.Geoff was a charming, kind and gentle man, always sharing interesting stories and humorous jokes and tales with his friends and family. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him.He is survived by his children Matthew and Kimberli Millward (Kauai, HI), Victoria Millward (Redwood City, CA), his grandson Lucas Millward (Munchen, Germany), and his younger brother and his wife Philip and Narci Millward (Highland, UT) along with numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.All are invited to attend the memorial at 11:00 am on October 17, 2018 at the LDS Chapel (1475 Edgewood Road, Redwood City, CA 94062) with the burial at Skylawn Memorial Park at 1:00 PM.
