I'm sad to hear about his passing. Met him in December 2002 while he was patrolling in San Francisco at the corner of Clement and 10th Ave. I was working at Gateway Bank when he walked in the bank to check the safety of the building. I always see him with his friend at the coffee shop in the morning before his route starts and he would always say hello. Gary was very friendly, courteous and helpful to everyone. Cousin Gary and I were born in the same year. Growing up together and during all our many family gatherings we were always together. Playing catch with the baseball was a favorite of ours. We had a wonderful time back then.
In later years we were fortunate to get together again at family reunions and take several fly-fishing trips. Our time in Yellowstone National Park was most memorable.
Gary had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile. I will remember him as stoic, but mostly as a kind and gentle soul. He loved his family very much. Gary will be dearly missed.
