Garth Hamilton Wilson's Obituary
Garth was born in Berkeley, California and later graduated fromUC Berkeley with a BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical Engineering.He belonged to Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and was a memberof Phi Beta Kappa as well as a member of Mensa.In 1964 he married Margaret Susan Arkush. They had twochildren, Scott Albert Wilson and Lindy Louise Wilson.Garth co-founded Precision Monolithics in 1968 and finished hiscareer at AMD, Intel and Digital Equipment. In his retirement,he became a Commission Chair at Foothill College.He was a boy scout as a youth and then became a scout master.He loved singing Barbershop starting in college, and picked it upagain after he retired. Over the years he competedinternationally with three different choruses and was awardedbronze and silver medals in international competition.Garth was a Life Master in bridge and played competitively withMargaret. He will be remembered for his beautiful warm smile,his sense of humor and his hearty laugh as well as his mentalacuity, his honesty and his integrity. Garth had a love of travel,a beautiful bass voice and embraced life to the fullest.He brought joy, warmth and happiness in great abundance, andwas deeply loved. He was an incredible man who will be sorelymissed.Garth is survived by his wife Margaret, children Scott and Lindyand their families. He is also survived by his sister TraleeDobson and his step sister Carol Craft as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
