Loving Mother, Teacher and FriendFredesminda Castro Pascual, 78, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City, CA surrounded with her family by her side.Fredesminda, also known as “Minda” to family and friends, was born on October 20, 1935 in San Roque Cavite City, Philippines to Severino Castro and Belen Rodriguez Adapon.Minda worked at Itemcot in the Philippines as a weaving machine operator. This was where she met her loving husband, Cornelio Pascual. They fell in love and eloped in Cebu, later married in Cabanatuan Nueva Ecija, Philippines in 1953. When she arrived in the U.S.A., she worked at Holiday Inn and retired after 16 years.Minda survived by her children; Lauro, Laura Loida (Pascual) Delos Santos, Leila (Pascual) Bermudez, Lamberto, Liberito, Lani (Pascual) De Leon, Lorna (Pascual) Lavu, Lyn (Pascual) Borbon, Leonardo, Lorella (Pascual) Cabael. She had 25 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was the second of 9; Flordeliza, Fredesminda, Frederiko, Ligaya, Angel, Victor, Teresita, Reynaldo and Cecilia and many, many friends.She loved to “garden” orchids, sew and sing. She was a “fashionista.” She would never leave the house without her “signature” fuschia lipstick on. She was a pioneer Jehovah’s Witness. She devoted immeasurable time to service the word of Jehovah God. Minda was generous, humble and kind. You would always see her smiling. She had an unforgetable, cute laugh. Minda was a motivator, advisor and a wonderful listener. She was also feisty and full of spirit.Visitation for viewing at Skylawn Funeral Home Route 35 at Highway 92 San Mateo, CA on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 3:30-7:30 P.M.Following day, Tuesday September 16, 2014 is the Funeral Chapel Service from 10:00-11:00 A.M.
