Florence Elizabeth Rowe's Obituary
Florence (Betty) Rowe, aged 86, of Redwood City died at Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City in the early moring on June 24, 2013. She was born on February 26, 1927 to Jake and Marie Berger, near Watford City, North Dakota. Her family moved to Vernonia, Oregon, where she graduated from high school in 1945. She was married to Paul Rowe on August 23, 1952. Betty moved to Portland, Oregon after graduating from high school, and worked as a telephone operator and then as a secretary until she met and married Paul Rowe at Zion Lutheran Church, Portland. Paul and Betty moved to California with their first daughter, Lynn, in 1955. They were living in San Bruno when their daughters Karen and Terry were born. The family moved to Redwood City in 1962. Betty worked in her home, taking care of her husband and children. She sewed all of her daughters’ clothing, and loved baking cakes and desserts. Betty loved being active. She was involved in her church Ladies’ Guild, and also enjoyed Square Dancing, Country Dancing, and Ballroom Dancing. She loved to travel to distant lands, and was able to fulfill her dream of seeing Africa. Betty is survived by her husband Paul, three daughters, Lynn Curry (with her husband Daniel), Karen Rowe, and Terry Rowe. Her granddaughters are Rose Stassart and Angela Fuller, her great grandchildren are Mackenzie and Zane. Joanne Hodgson (of Forest Grove, Oregon) is her only surviving sibling
