Ethan Allen's Obituary
Ethan Allen's Obituary On Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 2:00AM, Ethan Scott Allen left our earth to join Jesus in heaven. He was 63 years of age and resided in Santa Cruz County. He was walking on the beach, his favorite place at Seacliff State Park in Aptos, CA with his favorite girl, our Mom, Colette Barbara Allen. He collapsed there due to a brain aneurysm. Ethan was born in San Francisco on August 25, 1945 to Lawrence and Maria Socorro Allen. As a child, Ethan was inquisitive and free spirited! Nothing changed through the years. He embraced all who knew him. He attended Diablo High School were he earned his diploma in 1963. During his junior year, he met our mother Colette at a local dance. They were married on July 25, 1965 in Santa Clara, CA and have been happily married for 43 years. Ethan was a Farmers Insurance Agent for 33 years where he had extreme success. He had one of the largest agencies in the country and through years of hard work remained at the top of the company. His awards included multiple President's Clubs and other major company awards. Mostly, we remember him saying, 'I can't believe they pay me to do this, it is too easy!'. He loved what he did and his customers meant so much to him, they were his friends too! Ethan loved to fish (especially on the Lady Audra), golf and to spend time with 'his girls'. WE were his greatest hobby. Ethan was also a carpenter. All of us have special items that he crafted with love and they will forever mean the world to us. Thanks Daddy for another one of your gifts. He was also a 'master entertainer'. He loved to make everyone 'COCKTAILS' and was a gourmet. We loved to drink and eat his creations that only he could make! He just wanted everyone to be happy and have a great time. Ethan is survived by his wife Colette Barbara and his three daughters and their spouses: Scott and DeAnn Grasinger, Dave and Audra Dubler, Manuel and Carin Villalpando. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Lauren, Jacob, Nicholas, Noah and Jac Ryan. He is survived by his mother Maria Socorro Rodarte and his sisters, Evelyn Allen, Fran Gayer, Suzette Waite and Cherie Rodarte. He is also survived by his beloved Maltese Gabby Girl and Max ('you're a big boy now'). His services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2008. The funeral will begin at Noon with a private burial to follow. A public reception will follow. Services will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park, Hwy 92 and Skyline Blvd, San Mateo, CA 94402. This is not on Mapquest, but a map is available at www.lifemark.com. In lieu of flowers, our family is requesting a donation in memory of Ethan Allen to California Transplant Donor Net, www.ctdn.org, 800.55DONOR. This organization has been nothing short of grateful and honorable to the Allen Family and to Daddy! 'Our leader of the band has died, but his blood runs through our instruments and his song is in our soul'. WE will love and miss you forever Ethan, Daddy and we will never be the same without you!
