Elizabeth A. Skarlanic's Obituary
Liz passed away peacefully at 7:10 a.m., Monday April 30th. Liz had recently lost her husband of 62 years Raymond, and also is preceded in death by all of her siblings; Yolanda, Blanche, Louis, Ada, Paul, John, Marie and Marguerite. Liz is survived by her sons David and Philip, daughter-in-law Pamela, daughter Denise, and son-in-law David. Loving grandmother of Jennifer and her husband Ryan Boyd and P.J. Skarlanic and his wife Alexia, and four great-grandchildren.Liz was born in Richmond, CA to Amadeo and Denise Ferri, growing up in the Bay View neighborhood and becoming valedictorian at Balboa High School. Liz & Ray raised their family in Daly City; CA. Liz was dedicated to family first and also her work in the surety and bond department with The Hartford Insurance Co. for over 30 years. Shortly before retirement Liz and Ray moved to Oakley, CA.Liz was a keen card player, enjoyed all types of board games with family, and playing bridge with her friends. She loved the many dogs & cats they had over the years, and loved all animals. She gave generously to the Humane Society, Boys Club, Veterans & Native American charities. Liz was also a big S.F. Giants fan, enjoyed traveling the States and abroad with Ray, and many other trips with her Daughter Denise and Niece Ellen Pirtz.Private services will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo.
