In Memoriam
Our loving husband, father and grandfather Edwin Valencia Niverba passed at age 65 in South San Francisco California where he lived for the past 15 years. The second child of Jose and Ofelia Niverba, joined the Lord and his parents on February 5, 2020. His kind heart, sense of humor and fun loving personality is what will be most missed.
Edwin was born in Manila, Philippines on Dec. 7, 1954. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Estrella Alejandra Monasterio Niverba; his siblings Maribel, Susan, Ellen and Tito; his kids Patrick,Mark and Carmela; and 2 grandchildren, Camille and Matteo.
Spending time with family is what Edwin treasured and enjoyed the most. He was a loving husband and most proud of being a father to his 3 children. He looked forward to watching his children grow and each of them having a family of their own. He was even more excited when he learned he was going to be a grandfather, or “Dada” as he is called by Camille and Matteo.
Weekends were spent enjoying long drives to discover new places, playing billiards with friends and taking endless photos and videos especially of his grandchildren. He had a vast pin collection from each of the places he and Inday travelled to. When it came to his beloved grandchildren, he was full of energy and would play endlessly with them.
Edwin graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. He joined the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) where he worked for 28 years. He was known there to his colleagues as Mr. E. His charm and fun personality won the love of his colleagues instantly. There was never a dull moment when in his presence as he always put humor in everything. With his ambition and determination, he became an Assistant Vice president in BPI. As a leader his interests were to help and teach others to improve and make them better. His passion for banking did not stop there. He immigrated to the United States in 2005 to start a new chapter of his life together with his wife and kids. He continued to work for BPI, then transferred to Patelco where he worked for another 11 years.
Edwin had a bright and energetic personality. He touched so many individuals with his passion for life and was known for his ability to sense when people needed help. Edwin will be missed not just by his family but all the people whose lives he touched.
