It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved founder, Edward A. Poleselli.Remembering a Life Well LivedEdward A. Poleselli, founder, owner and chairman of Vivion, Inc. passed away on June 13, 2018 at the age of 92.Ed was born in the Bronx (New York). In 1946, after serving in the United States Army Air Forces during WWII, Ed graduated from Fordham University with a degree in Chemistry. After graduating he began his professional career with the Department of Agriculture in San Francisco, California subsequently moving to Pfizer, where he spent several years in sales.While working for Pfizer, Ed had discovered his niche was chemical sales. In 1957 Ed left Pfizer to start his own chemical distribution business on the West Coast, naming it Vivion Chemical Company to honor the memory of his older brother, Viviano, who was killed in World War II.In the early years of the business Ed was running it out of his garage, but it didn’t take long for the startup to outgrow its humble beginnings. By the early 1960’s Vivion, had office and warehouse complexes in San Carlos, CA and Vernon, CA. By the 1980’s Vivion had established a sales presence and warehousing in Portland, OR and Seattle, WA. Subsequently, Vivion, Inc. opened satellite offices in Utah and Arizona, where it uses public facilities to warehouse. Today Vivion also has sales offices in Colorado and Texas.After more than sixty years since Vivion was founded, Ed’s legacy continues on through a thriving business. Still family owned and operated by his son, Michael, Vivion’s sales and market share continue to grow annually.The Vivion family mourns his passing and remembers Ed for his commitment and devotion to the business.Ed is survived by his brother Lloyd, five children, and eight grandchildren.
