I knew Ed later in his life, and not well, but Julie’s dedication to making his life as full and loving as possible told me he was a very special brother.
I remember when Ed came out to South Dakota to spend part of the summer with us on our ranch. My little sister and I were just grade school kids and never had a big brother. I thought Ed hung the moon. I remember following him around like a puppy. He would tease us and try to convince us he at whole bananas…peel and all. One day when we were playing he popped one of our rubber kick balls. He hitch hiked into town to get us a new one. It was only 2 1/2 miles away, but I was so impressed that he could do that and would do that for us. Like I said – He hung the moon! Love Susan
