Edward Gan's Obituary
Early in the morning on January 24, 2026, Edward Gan passed away peacefully at the age of 86 in his home in Foster City, California.
Born in San Francisco in 1939, Edward was the beloved son of Charles Ting Gan and Lily Leong Gan. He dedicated 30 years of his career to NASA Ames Research as a model maker, retiring at the age of 55.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Vivian; his son, Jeff; his daughter, Leslie; his grandchildren, Liana and Ari; his sister, June; his brothers, Grant and Paul; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings David, George, Virginia, Norman, Henry, John, Helen, Lily, Richard, and Marian.
Edward was an adventurer at heart. At home, he enjoyed volleyball, tennis, golf, fishing, and riding his Harley. He and Vivian traveled the world together, exploring hundreds of cities across the country and abroad.
The family kindly requests attire with a relaxed, cruise‑like feel. Following the service, we will caravan to the interment site. Warm clothing is recommended, as the weather is expected to be cold.
After the interment, we will gather together to share a delicious meal.
