Eduardo Luis Calderon's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Eduardo “Eddy” Calderon
July 13, 1947 – February 22, 2026
Eduardo Calderon, lovingly known to all as “Eddy,” passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 13, 1947, in La Paz Bolivia, to his parents Guillermo Calderon and Teresa Calderon Salas.
Eddy graduated from the American Institute, Class of 1966, carrying with him a lifelong belief in the importance of education, discipline, and perseverance. From a young age, his passion for soccer was evident. The game was more than a pastime for him, it was a joy that reflected his energy, and love of his team.
In 1978, while working at the social security offices, Eddy met the love of his life, Miriam. Their bond quickly blossomed into a beautiful friendship and they were married on August 18, 1979. Together they built a life grounded in love, respect, and devotion. They were blessed with two children, Patricia Calderon Mayorga and Oscar Calderon, who were the pride and joy of his life.
In February 1982, Eddy moved his family to San Francisco , a city he would proudly call home for the rest of his life. They first settled in the Mission District and later in the Excelsior. In San Francisco, Eddy took pride to provide for his family and was dedicated to his job at AT&T as a fiber optic specialist.
Eddy was a passionate sports fan who loved cheering on his Bay Area teams. Whether it was rooting for the 49ers, spending baseball season rooting for the Giants or celebrating victories by the Warriors, he wore his loyalty proudly. Those games were more than entertainment, they were moments of joy and excitement, that brought the family together.
He also treasured the simple joys of being at home with his loved ones, especially watching favorite shows like Family Feud and The price is right. Sitting together, guessing answers, laughing, and sharing those everyday things created memories his family will forever cherish.
Eddy will be remembered for his open heart and generous spirit. He was the kind of man who opened his home to others, always ready to offer support, guidance, or simply a warm conversation. He believed deeply in the power of education, in treating others with respect, and in always presenting oneself with dignity. He truly believed in “dressing the part” and carrying oneself with pride.
Above all, Eddy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his devoted wife Miriam; his children Patty and Oscar; his son-in-law Perry; his five grandchildren and two great granddaughters, who will carry forward his values, stories, and love. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the lessons he taught, and the unwavering love he gave so freely.
Though he is no longer with us in body, Eduardo “Eddy” Calderon will forever live on in our hearts.
