Edith E Silveira's Obituary
Edith E Silveira, 95 passed away peacefully at home on January 5th, 2014. Born in Auburn, New York, she was a resident of San Mateo for 52 years and spent the last couple of years living with her family in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.Edith served as a surgical nurse in the Army Nurse Corps in WWII and continued her nursing career as a reservist where she retired at the rank of Major. She went into Public Health Nursing with San Mateo County, and worked for Redwood City School District as an audiometrist where she retired.She was married 26 years to Jack Silveira who preceded her in death.She is survived by her daughter, Gina Silveira-Coffey; her son in law, Sean Coffey; her sister, Doris Bender; her brother, Robert Guyett; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.She had a wonderful full life, was a loving Mother, Sister and Aunt. We will miss her love and her million dollar smile.Family and Friends are invited to join us for services on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Skylawn Memorial Park on Highway 92 at Skyline Boulevard, San Mateo, CA. Visitation at 11:30 am, Memorial Service at 1 pm, Graveside service to follow. The family requests in lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity in Edith’s honor will be appreciated.
