Edgar Paul Hanson's Obituary
Edgar Paul Hanson was born in San Francisco, California on July 27, 1950 to Lydia and Darrel Hanson. He passed away on November 8, 2019 surrounded by loved ones.His brothers Robert Hanson, John Hanson, Arthur Wayne Hanson, and sister Dolores Hanson-Castro predeceased him. He was happily married to his wife Ester Hanson for 39 years. Edgar is survived by his daughters Erica and Michelle Hanson. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Daniela Elias, Imani Billip, Amanda Elias, Abraham Elias, Ettore Billip, Noah Elias, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.Edgar was an avid cyclist, exploring trails all across the bay area from the Pescadero Coast to Los Altos Hills, and Marin County. If he wasn’t out on a ride he was watching Tour de France, or Giro d’Italia. He also supported local teams: 49 Niners, SF Giants, and greatly enjoyed watching the Warrior’s with his family.Edgar graduated from Mission High School and attended San Francisco City College. He worked as a graphic designer and systems manager since 1989. He worked 15 years at Gensler Architects in system administration and technical support. For the past 8 years, Edgar greatly enjoyed working at the California Public Utility Commission providing audio/ visual technical support and much more.Edgar was known for his kind spirit, great sense of humor, sunny disposition, and contagious smile. He loved a good laugh and wasn’t ever afraid to hit the dance floor. Edgar was greatly loved and will be dearly missed and remembered most for being a loyal husband, a devoted father, and loving grandfather.A celebration of life service will be held on November 16, 2019, viewing will start at 11am, service at 12pm, followed by the burial at 1:30pm. Flowers or donations may be sent to Skylawn Memorial Park on Hwy. 92 at Skyline Blvd, San Mateo.
