Dudley Truelsen's Obituary
Dudley Truelsen, aged 90 of San Bruno died on May 21, 2017. He was born August 2, 1926 in San Francisco, California. Dudley graduated from Lowell High School in the 1940s. By 1942 he volunteered in the Merchant Marines and served the next three years and enduring multiple deployments. He was then drafted and served in the United States Army for two more years before being honorably discharged. Dudley cultivated his love for basketball during his time at Lowell High School, where he received the title of Allstate; averaging thirty-three points a game. During World War II, while working as a Merchant Marine, he performed his duties well in several different combat theaters including the Mediterranean and the Pacific. After the war ended, Dudley continued his Basketball career at San Francisco City College where he would later gain Hall of Fame status. After college, Dudley assisted in the election of San Francisco Mayor Moscone who was a close friend of his. Dudley would spend the remainder of his professional career working as a health inspector for the city of San Francisco and long resident of San Mateo County. Dudley Truelsen is survived by his friends Ashleigh and Sean Karkazis and will never be forgotten.A service will be held June 6 at 2:00 PM at Skylawn Memorial Park Cemetery.CA-92 & Skyline Blvd, San Mateo, CA 94402
