Du Shen Fang, 75, of San Jose, CA and Houston, TX died on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.He was born on June 2, 1941 in Guangdong, China, to Kuo Chu Fang and Ming Fung Lang. He attended Whampoa Military Academy (Republic of China, Taiwan). He was a Major (retired) in the Republic of China Marine Corps before immigrating to the United States. He was married to Fung Sout Fang for almost 50 years.He exemplified the American dream and was an entrepreneur by necessity. Arriving in the US at the age of 36, he owned companies in the restaurant and lodging industries. He worked hard and saved diligently until he retired at the age of 57. He enjoyed traveling and taking cruises all over the world with his wife and playing mahjong.He is survived by his wife, Fung Sout Fang; his two sons, Leo Fang and Li Fang; and his grandchildren Ethan, Greyson, and Cailyn.His family will remember him as a Dutiful Son, Caring Husband, and Esteemed Father.A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Skylawn Funeral Home.
