My earliest memory of Grandma Dorothy is her singing, and dancing. I remember her never ending positive outlook on life, and wise words. She always had something worthy of celebration, and I learned from her to cherish the small things. Thank you Grandma for setting such a beautiful example.
She used to always tell me “don’t take any wooden nickles.” I never understood what that meant until I became older. I realised she was giving me sound advice, and that was to be cautious of the world around me. She was the sweetest lady. Even until her final year she would arm wrestle people. She was a kindred spirit who’s fortune wasn’t measured with gold, but with love. Seeing the glow in people’s eyes as they share memories of her is the ultimate commemoration to her achievement as a truly memorable and passionate person. We love you, Dorthy. Rest in peace.
