I lived a few houses down from the Firpos (@2602 Hampton Ave.) between 1957 - 72 and went to school with David and Larry. I remember Doris as rather reserved but friendly, prim, and proper. My mother, Barbara, would occasionally run into her at the store or the beauty parlor, and comment on her "attractive, good looks" ; and, despite her red hair, thought she resembled the blonde, actress Marjorie Lord from the Danny Thomas Show (lol). Barbara also passed in 2020 and is buried at Forest Lawn, as well. R.I.P. Doris.

I was so saddened to find this while thinking of Doris, David, and family, in Colfax, and the Grass Valley area due to the current fires.
I have passed this on to my sister’s Carol and Laura.
We all have such wonderful memories at the cabin growing up with you all as our extended family.
I think we always felt like all of you boys were the brothers we never had!
Our parents were best friends.
My father was at a real loss after Til passed. I know he looked in on Doris until his passing, and of course Doris was one of my Mom’s best friends until she passed.
Doris you were the last of the golden girls.
So sweet and soft spoken, and a beauty from the inside out.
You will always be a part of my warmest childhood memories.
