Doris Bowden's Obituary
Doris Bowden Passed away peacefully on December 22, 2011 in Redwood City, California. Doris was born in Keokuk, Iowa on August 25, 1922. She was the youngest daughter of John and Ida Morris. Doris lived and attended school in Keokuk with her brother Harry Morris and sister Leona Riddle. Doris met and married Ross Bowden also from Keokuk in 1938. She was widowed after 54 years of marriage. Doris leaves behind 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grand children as well as many nieces and nephews and countless friends. Doris will be remembered for her ready smile and devotion to her church and family. She was faithfully involved in church activities and as a Sunday School Teacher at the Western Hills Church for forty plus years. She was also a multi talented crafts woman who loved to crochet and quilt. She was always eager to try new crafts and projects, which she gifted to friends and family. Funeral services will be held at Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held at Lesley Terrace in Belmont , where she lived for the past 22 years.
