Doo Yong Har's Obituary
Doo Yong Har, aged 76, of San Jose, CA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. He was born in 1937 in Seoul, South Korea to Sang Duk Har and Wahn Soon Har. Growing up during World War II and the Korean War, he and his family didn’t have much, but he was able to finish high school and serve in the Korean Army. In 1970, he married Soon Ja Park. They were together for 38 years until she passed away in 2008.A few years after his son and daughter were born, he moved his family to the United States in search for a better life. He worked in and later owned a liquor store in San Jose, CA until he retired. During retirement, he spent time traveling to many places in the world. In the past few years, he was a regular member of Korean Baptist Church of San Jose.Doo Yong Har is survived by his son, John Har, and his family (Hye-Jin, Jamie, Ryan, and Christopher), and his daughter, Un Hui Kao, and her family (John Kao, Evan, Connor, and Serena). His loving siblings, Wohn Yong Har, Boo Yong Har, Wahn Yong Har, So Hui Ko, and Dae Yong Har, their spouses, and all the nieces and nephews will also miss him dearly.A public viewing will be held at 9:30am with a funeral service at 10:30am on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, CA. Burial service and a lunch reception will follow at Skylawn.
