The memories that have been shared are beautiful. It's clear that Donna was loved and part of "many families". Donna has been part of our family for over 25 years. I used to wish that Donna would walk me! When we vacationed, Donna would spend the night with our dog babies. They loved spending time with Donna --- her special treats, blankets and doggie wear. Without Donna they would be hungry, cold and naked. When we returned from vacation, the dogs would look at us... "Oh, it's you.... Can Donna stay here too?" Donna was our angel --- she was there for me too... Often bringing the special Won Ton soup that makes everything better. During our last trip in May, she didn't have time to do the usual stocking of our refrigerator with burritos and fresh fruit... She asked if we liked Egg Salad sandwiches ---- and returned with two sandwiches, chips & popsicles. When I learned that Donna was not well she would not accept my offer to help her. At first I tried to make her understand that it was my turn to help her... I came to terms that Donna lived her life in a special way, and she would handle this part of her journey in her own way as well. Our communication became daily texts of the dogs and funny dog cartoons. She said this was the best medicine. Donna, you are now with Shannon, Khat, Vannah, Creamy Doo, Bella and more... Bailey and Maya both loved Donna very very much. Our whole family loved Donna, she was like Dr. Dolittle, she could speak with the dogs and understand what they were saying, and there was so much love between them. Donna always knew exactly what treats to give Bailey and Bailey would always know Donna was coming as soon as her car would be coming up the street. Donna always greeted her with love and a treat, never failed, not once. We love you Donna, and you gave us a gift of true love and compassion. There's a reason why the crows always followed your car, they saw your spirit, they knew your heart. Thank you for everything. We will miss you.
Today I found out that beloved Donna Kuwahara has died. I am so sad. My then 11 year old daughter met Donna in 2008. Donna was walking her pack of canines and Sera was thrilled to run into them in our neighborhood. A few months later we adopted a rescue dog named Dingo and Donna became our walker. She would leave detailed notes about their walks. Once when my partner was out of town, and I got the flu and stayed home from work. Donna came and picked up Dingo boy for his walk and dropped him off. Then late afternoon there was a knock on our door and it was Donna. She had brought us a large container of wor wonton soup, throat spray and other items to help me heal. I am very grateful that Donna came into our lives and we were all touched by her warmth, friendliness and kindness. Dingo adored her and I hope they are together again. Ayse Dogan and Family
Dearest Donna,
You were so loving and so beloved by all of us. Thank you for taking care of all of our animals over the years. Pixie, Chloe, Boy-Boy, Yoji, Maya, Bex, Mogley, Toby, Peanut, Dottie, Walter...I still have many treasured notebooks full of your accounts of love and appreciation and good times with our fur babies. Some of them will be waiting for you over the Rainbow Bridge, as I'm sure you'll have so many fur babies whom you gave love and care to, waiting to greet you. We will miss you so much...you, who was always giving, loving, and so so positive, and always blew a gentle breeze of light and laughter into our days. Thank you for all the chats and chuckles. It won't be the same without you here, Donna. I'm looking forward to seeing you again one day.
