Donald Sipple's Obituary
March 19, 1939 – January 13, 2024
Resident of Fremont, California
Donald was Born in Lowell, Mass to Donald and Dorothy Sipple. Don could not wait to come into this world a little early @4lbs and home in a shoe box. Don had 1 sibling, Dianne Samples married to John Samples and Daughter Kate who reside in Santa Rosa. The family moved from Mass to California in 1952. Don joined the Boy scouts where he and Doug McLean enjoyed many outdoor survival camping trips in the Pinnacles. Don graduated in 1957 from Menlo Atherton high where he met his, until this day, close friend Brooks Loeffler. Don joined the Coast Guard with honorable discharge after 7 years. Starting their marriage out in Redwood city Donald Married Rose Marie in 1968. Don, Rose Marie, and Debbie (stepdaughter) lived shortly in Redwood City, CA until 1970 when they moved to Fremont, CA with the birth of Michelle.
Don worked first in lithography, Coast Guard reserve, part time race car instructor, then life career in auto service management. He earned many awards for service. Don became interested in carpentry when he moved to Fremont befriending Bob Peterson and family. He with help of friends and family rebuilt his own home, where he lived out the next 53 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping at the family property, golf, watching the 49ers, Warriors, nature photography, photoshop, compiling photos and family events. Don fully enjoyed his retirement and was able to travel 16 years on special trips abroad with his wife, friends and family and loved to take care of and photograph his hummingbirds.
Don deeply loved and is survived by his wife Rose Marie Sipple of 55 + years, stepdaughter Debbie Breitzman-Ingver, daughter Michelle Jackson, son in laws Mark Jackson and Villu Ingver, 3 grandsons, Jay Breitzman, Tyler Dorso and Brett Breitzman. Donald was also blessed to have had a granddaughter-in- Law Stella Breitzman and 5 great grandchildren, Tallin, Jever, Jena, Ydra and Zadar Breitzman. Don loved
and was well loved by his extended family, sister and brother in laws, Virginia and Frank Bobadilla, Albert and Jane Dymond, Cheryl and Rich Avila and Lynda and Bruce Goines along with all their children and grandchildren which encompassed his close nit family.
Donald Passed away on Jan 13th peacefully at home after a 4-year battle with lung and esophageal cancer at 84 years old. He said” I came into this world fighting. I am going to leave fighting.” And that is what he did with quiet composure, keeping his sense of humor until the very end.
Celebration of life will be held at Sky-lawn Cemetery in San Mateo on Sunday 01/28/2024 starting @11 am. Please RSVP 510-468-6262 for luncheon headcount.
