Shankar, Devendra's Obituary
Peter Shankar, age 65 of Hayward California peacefully passed away at Kaiser Fremont Hospital on May 13th, 2026 with his wife, sister and mom at his side.
Peter was born on January 30th, 1961 in Suva, Fiji Islands youngest son of Shiu Shankar and Savitri Shankar. He grew up in San Mateo, California where his academic achievements included graduating from Cleveland Institute of Electronics, College of San Mateo and Sierra Academy of Aeronautics and achieve his FAA license.
On July 21st, 2005 Peter married the love of his life Sanjeeta Devi, and together they created a strong and loving life that remained at the center of his world.
Peter was the beloved and caring husband of Sanjeeta Devi. He was a very professional and mind intelligent person a true fighter in every sense of the word. He has a valuable Technical and Aeronautic skills that he share with his family and friends.
He lived a life that exemplified the best of what it means to be a loved husband, brother, father, brother-in-law and son. Peter’s memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him and his influence will continue to be felt by the many lives he touched.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife Sanjeeta Devi his mother Savitri Shankar, his older sister Shashi Kiran Prasad, his sister-in-law Mohini Shankar and his brother-in-law Sujendra Kumar and Subendra Kumar. He was preceded in death by his father, Shiu Shankar, brother Praveen Shankar and his sister, Roshni Narayan.
As we say goodbye to Peter Shankar, we celebrate life that was well lived and full of purpose. His legacy is a far reaching one that is filled with love, friendship and kindness. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
