Dannewitz, Dee Deloss' Obituary
Dee Dannewitz
March 2, 1967 – December 7, 2024
Dee Dannewitz was born on March 2, 1967, in Healdsburg, California, and passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 57. Dee was a cherished member of the Burlingame and Half Moon Bay communities, known for his unwavering kindness, dedication to excellence and service in the auto industry.
Dee accepted the Lord as his Savior at the tender age of five; and at the age of 6, he was baptized on July 24, 1973 at Temple Baptist Church. Dee attended San Francisco Christian Schools from kindergarten through high school, graduating in 1985. A highlight of his high school days was attending a summer basketball camp at Pepperdine University featuring instruction and workouts with Magic Johnson.
Dee had a profound love for professional sports, particularly football, basketball and baseball. He was a regular attendee of sporting events at local venues and collected specialized sports memorabilia. His appreciation for the dedication and precision of professional sports was evident in his own life, as he enjoyed participating and competing in the Bel Mateo Bowling League.
Dee was known for his work ethic and eagerness to learn as well as take on more responsibility. Early on, this allowed him to move quickly from being a bus boy to a cook at the Peppermill Restaurant, and it ultimately led him to flourish in his true calling in the auto industry. He started as a salesman for South City Ford, and ended his career as General Manager for James Ford in Half Moon Bay.
Family was precious to Dee. He is survived by his loving mother Linda, brother David, sister-in-law Betty, and his two nieces Lucy and Sally, all of whom remember him as a beloved son, brother, and uncle. His family recalls his generous nature, cunning card game skills, and the silly shenanigans he brought to every family gathering.
Dee Dannewitz will be remembered for his good nature, generous spirit, and the positive impact he had on the lives of those who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire his family, friends, and community.
A memorial service to honor Dee's life will be held on January 19, 2025 at 2:30pm at New Life Christian Fellowship, 1125 Terra Nova Blvd., Pacifica, CA. All are welcome to come and join us in remembering Dee.
