Daniel Fielding Troyer's Obituary
Daniel Fielding Troyer, 39, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in the comforts of his childhood home. He was born to Gary and Vina (Toots) Troyer on June 29, 1974.Dan had a joy of life and filed it with family and friends. He remained on the San Mateo Peninsula for the majority of his stay and excelled in the family’s door hardware business, Troyer Door Control. He had many activities and hobbies, gardening, boating, soccer, camping, golfing, skiing, surfing and horseback riding. Two of his favorite places were the beaches of Costa Rica and the mountains of Lake Tahoe. Dan was also a D Sargent of The Knights Templar. Dan love to help people and always had an open hand and heart to help. He received some of his greatest joy helping people achieve sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous.He is survived by his son Daniel Alconaba Troyer, his parents Gary and Vina (Toots) Troyer, his sister Cindy Lemons and her husband Troy, his brother Christopher, sister- in-law Claudia and his two nieces Breanna and Alexa Rodman.Dan’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on Friday August 9, 2013 at Skylawn Memorial Park, Crystal Chapel-Main Reception Center, HWY 92 & Skyline Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94403. Reception will follow, 12:30/1:00pm to 5pm at the Elks Lodge, 233 West 20th Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94403.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Daniel A. Troyer. A college tuition fund for Dan’s son, Daniel A. Troyer will be created. If you wish to donate, please make checks payable to Daniel A. Troyer and mail to 36 Eastwood Drive, San Mateo, CA 94403.An additional Memorial/Fundraiser for Daniel A. Troyer’s College Tuition Fund will be held Saturday August 17, 2013, at the Lariat Tavern, 1428 El Camino Real, Belmont, CA from 6pm-8pm.
