Cynthia Olga Wilson's Obituary
After a protracted battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, Cynthia Olga Wilson passed away on May 7, 2016 in Palo Alto, CA at the age of 50. She leaves behind her life partner, JP Kielsznia, her mother, her father, her siblings and countless cousins, and many friends around the world.Cindy was born on April 23, 1966 in Juneau, AK to father, Ray Wilson (Kiks.adi) and mother, Lois Wilson (Keet Gooshi Hit). She had two brothers: Lee Wilson (Juneau). Jim Wilson (South Dakota) and two sisters: Valerie Wilson (Juneau) and Robin Wilson (San Diego, CA). She also had three nieces: Brittney Marie Wilson, Amber and Amanda Dhaenens.After completing high-school Cindy went to school at Long Beach City College, where she met long time best friend Denise Appell. After transferring to California State University, Chico, she graduated with a BA in 1993. Cindy then worked in the music industry in the Los Angeles area and also traveled extensively throughout Europe. Eventually she settled in Santa Fe, NM and worked for the state’s administration in different positions over the years.In 2006 she moved to Scottsdale, AZ for a few months and in early 2007 to San Diego, CA where she worked as a healthcare regulation compliance professional for a PBM company. She met JP in San Diego in 2007 and they moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2009. Cindy then worked for Kaiser Permanente.In 2011 she decided to go back to school and started studying for an MBA at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA and graduated in 2013. She was also a member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association.In their 9 years together living in San Diego and the San Francisco region, Cindy and JP enjoyed many travels within the US, Europe, and several islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, which Cindy really loved. Cindy and JP also liked skiing, snorkeling, camping, travelling, and hiking throughout the Western US. Cindy loved nature, seeing wildflowers, animals, and being in forests. She also very much enjoyed painted and sculpted arts and visiting art museums.At home, Cindy enjoyed cycling, swimming, running, yoga, Pilates, and going to the gym, several of which she did together with JP. She also like to read books and magazines.Cindy and JP also liked cooking together, trying out local restaurants, and spending time with friends.Despite being cut short, Cindy’s life was already quite full of experiences as she never shied away from an adventure. She was kind-hearted, funny, approachable, loving. She left a positive influence on people she touched. Cindy was also a fighter as she showed during her fight of cancer.We would like to thank all of our family and friends whom have shown us an outpouring of sympathy and support!A Celebration of Life for Cindy will take place at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo, CA on Saturday May 21st at 11:30AM.
